In Great Britain, there are hundreds of mosques, organizations and institutions that have been quietly serving the British Muslim community for the last forty years, but they are not part of any national body or organization. For this reason, their concerns have often been unheard. The British Muslim Forum (BMF) has been established to awake and organize this silent world.
All the organizations and institutions that are represented by the BMF have deep-seated relations with their local communities and are, therefore, grass-root based. After all, the mosques or madrasas are the institutions that are frequently visited by Muslim girls and boys, young people, women, men and the elderly.
The BMF does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of his/her sex, age, race, colour or language. Moreover, it aims to wholeheartedly engage and collaborate with similar organizations.
Aims & Objectives
1. To work towards attaining the political, social, economical, educational and religious rights of the British Muslim community through democratic means, within the legal framework of this country.
2. To work towards eliminating the atmosphere of anxiety and tension caused by religious hatred, extremism and racial prejudice in this country.
3. To educate and guide the new British Muslim generation in a way that shall promote peace, tolerance, respect and unity within a multicultural society.
4. To encourage and support projects committed to the welfare and prosperity of British Muslim women.
5. To create significant relationships with all faith communities in order to further mutual respect, understanding and tolerance.
