We are never higher than anyone else just because you have an amazing house or because you're famous and popular....or because you have things that other people dont have - these are blessings of Allah in this life but the only way you will surpass others are by your good deeds and the rememberance of Allah is one of the most important** You could be at the top of your class or one of the highest paid workers and yet at the same time a muslim road sweeper may be higher than you...and yet many look down on them...who will be the one gaining Allah's closeness and rewards insha'allah due to His Mercy? And lets try and not forget the rewards of these athkar - rememberance of our Creator.....for instance, if you say ayat kursi after every prayer then the only thing that is stopping you from Heaven is death!* Memorizing the first 10 ayahs of surat kahaf = protection from the anti christ - the dijjal.* Reading surat Mulk before you sleep = prevention of punishment of the grave. Saying Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi + subhan Allah al atheem = The weight of this on the scale is very much only Allah knows just how much. There are so many more and I'm gonna try and keep reminding myself about them and inshallah you all will too! (* = according to the books of ahadith ) If anyone has doubts about these athkar they should locate them in the books of ahadith and inshallah you will get rewards by Allah because of trying to gain knowledge for sabil Allah. If you still have problems I'll be happy to post the actually ahaadith. May Allah continue to guide us all. Salam alaikum!

As-Salamu Alaykum Sister May Welcome to the forum and thank you for your enlightening post, it would be nice if you enlighten us more but i dont want to over trouble you we would be able to find numerous Hadith amongst the collection of the Hadith. And also if it wouldnt trouble you too much to pop a hello in the welcome section introducing yourself to the people. brotherandrew.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=1114747783i had to check whether this was a fiqh issue and yes it counted Subhan-Allah. On the Issue of dhickr this is the very thing that awakes the heart from its dead state and purifies the heart, Purification throuh the dhickr of Allah should be our main objective, Imam Ghazali holds it obligatory to do so. just to confirm what you wrote: God does not love those who exult (28:76) those who walk arrogantly on the earth Allah says 'the true slaves of the Rahman are those who walk on the earth in humility (25:63) Thinking ourselves to be better than others is a crime and it can be even more dangerous for one who does good deeds and big ammounts of dhickr to become full of pride due to their deeds and so forth. I want to include here a few passages from a book i have been reading: ' As for obeidence, one must recognize that obeidence is a blessing from God. if a religous person starts to believe that he is better than other people --- even if these "other" people are in a state of disobeidence --- he invites haughtiness. This is the danger of obeidence and, infact, the danger of religion --- self righteousness. Imam Ibn 'Ataa'illah said, "how many a wrong action that leads to a shame and impoverishment before God is better than obeidience that leads to a sense of pride and arrogance! in this is the secret of wrong actions. (the new testament relates the story of the pride of the righteous Pharisee and the contrition of the humble taz collector. Jesus remarks, "those who make themselves great will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be made great) [Hamza Yusufs Purification of the heart] brotherandrew.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=books&action=display&thread=1114915240its a very nice book al hamdu Lillah wasalams
