Asalaam u alaikum....
I am just writing in to say that my name is dawud and i am a new member of this forum.... Alhamdulillah i would like to congratulate brother andrew who is not only a admin on this site but a very close friend of mine... Mashallah i am pleased to see that a new convert/revert in islam has managed to put up a islamic site for people like myself and all others around the globe to use and put their ideas and views accross concerning various issues on the islamic faith today....
It is very important for us muslims today to stay in touch with our deen and to also ask questions regarding the deen of Allah (swt).... One great way to do this is offcourse having a forum where people can discuss various ideas and also inform other muslims of todays situations around the globe.....
I myself have been living in nottingham for the past 4 yrs....but now i reside in London where i am originally from.... i have stayed with brother andrew on various occasions in and out of the masjid... not only me but a few other brothers have all spent time with each other talking about or discussing the quran, fiqh, hadith and also doing a little zikr of Allah (swt)... we all used to spend time in private studies too.... our main intrests are reading about the life of the prophet muhammad(saws)...... discussing his (saws) actions and habits.... We used to attend a few classes if you can remember brother andrew! where we used to learn the quran and its meaning with a shaikh who studied from Al-azhar uni... mashallah he was a good man and full of knowledge.... a person who had the true love for rasoolullah (saws).....
p.s. brother andrew if you could please send me a copy of your book once you have fully completed it (the anti-venom) i would be most grateful
love and peace to all
wasalaam

Salam alaikum, my name is May I'm Saudi/British... and I think its great too that Brother Andrew has made his own forum mashallah but I know him more as takingstepz786 heh from another forum.... To be honest I havent been posting in forums for awhile now...I used to go to Christian forums as well but I used to get upset at what they used to say...the reason I got into those forums is that once I had the most amazing dream - I was in a church and there were a few people around I was looking at those stained glass windows until something caught my eye - carvings made on a wooden table I went closer and I read the words in arabic ...gol ho allaho ahad...I love that dream! Its been two years now since I've been serious about what my purpose in life was by focusing on my worship and I got to see the most amazing place on this planet.....mekka! Al hamdlellah...this religion is so amazing...inshallah Allah will keep our feet firmly on the Straight Path and guide more people into Islam though His Mercy... Salam Alaikum

Asalaamu-Alaikum Warah-Mathullah Wa-Barakaat.
greetings to Andrew, Dawud and may.
I think that forums like these, which have a solid basis in factual content, and present views in a balanced and informed way rather than just spouting rhetoric are absolutely vital to further the way Islam is propegated and presented to not only fellow members of the Ummah but to non-muslims too.
We live in an extremely complex time right now. Information overload combined with mis-information, half-truths, manipulation of facts and history combined by the power of media portrayal in forming opinions rather that facts. Add to this the plethora of problematic issues within the ummah itself regarding differring viewpoints etc.
anyway, I wish this board all the success Inshallah.

I definetly agree with you Outlandish ... theres loads of "mis-information and half truths" out there we all tend to forget that the real truth in life would be those things that provide clear evidence - and nothing inbetween - as Allah says in surat baqarah- Bring your evidence if you are truthful - thats where we should look if we want to know something for sure - Quran and the Ahadith of our Prophet pbuh. These days many muslims are inventing their own thing...people obsessed with their horoscope and good luck charms on their belongings saying if they remove it something bad will happen...do they think its the charms that make things happen or is Allah? As Allah says in surat nissa - Everything that happens is from Allah- Every act of worship should with the accordance of Muhammed pbuh - for he has perfected this religion for us - I think everyone, including myself should think twice before they do an act and not try to invent something new or say something about this religion with clear knowledge. Allah knows best Salam Alaikum

As-Salamu Alaykum
Certainly may has spoke truth, i hear alot of Muslims saying 'good luck' and 'i wish you the best of luck' but in reality it is not luck that created the world.
Somtimes i sit down and watch a movie and sometimes the catchphrases they use strike me like in matrix for example 'everything that has a beginning has an end' but the one that struck me recently was 'im not lucky i am blessed'.
Subhan-Allah talk about Diamonds in dirt, to accept reality and the Creator of reality brings us to realise that everything is controlled by Him, He has power over all and indeed i dont wish for luck, No i hope to be blessed -
Let us all be blessed by the One who has power over all and all things are dependant upon him.
Ameen
